COINGA: The company

COINGA Cooperative

The Insular Livestock Cooperative GOINGA started when, in 1966, a group of small framers and producers committed to managing the value of their work. Carlos Salort was its first president. José Mª de Olivar and Despujol continued his task and nowadays Lorenzo Lafuente Hernández. Antonio Cardona Sans and Joan Vila i Roig preceded the current director Margarita Tudurí Febrer.

Today there are more than 300 partners and some fifty workers. COINGA The new factory, opened in 2007, is located in the town of Alaior and features the most modern facilities dedicated to the manufacture of cheese. The public can access it by arranging a visit. It also has a shop where you can taste and buy different varieties of DO Mahon-Menorca COINGA.

The company has always been characterised by their level of commitment to employees. The team that makes the existence of COINGA possible knows how to balance between tradition and innovation, caused by a rapidly changing market. New generation boost and the teams experience are the key to dealing with everyday new challenges.
